Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Clean your portobello caps with a damp cloth and remove the stems. Brush each cap with a little olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Baking
- Place the caps, gill side up, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 10 minutes to soften them up.
- Spoon marinara sauce over each baked cap and add your toppings: bell peppers, onions, olives, and a generous portion of mozzarella.
- Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
Finishing Touches
- Sprinkle fresh basil on top before serving. Admire your creation!
Notes
Wipe mushrooms with a damp towel, don’t soak. Feel free to add cooked sausage or pepperoni for added flavor. A lumpy sauce is part of the magic!
