Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Stir in the flour and salt until a dough forms. Knead on a clean surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour.
Cooking
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Boil a large pot of water and stir in the baking soda.
- Punch down the dough, divide it into small pieces, roll each into a ball and boil in the baking soda water for 30 seconds.
- Place boiled pretzel bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
Make the Dip
- Combine crumbled blue cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, chopped herbs, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix until creamy.
Serve
- Serve the warm pretzel bites alongside the blue cheese dip.
Notes
Feel free to use a substitute cheese if blue cheese isn’t preferred. Fresh herbs will greatly enhance the flavor.
