  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 count bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 2 tablespoons water for thickening
  • to taste Salt
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice your beef and veggies in advance to prepare for the quick stir-fry.
Marinate the Beef
  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and black pepper. Allow it to marinate while you prepare the veggies.
Cook the Beef
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the marinated beef. Stir-fry for approximately 3-4 minutes until browned.
Add Veggies
  1. Toss in the garlic, onion, bell pepper, and broccoli. Stir-fry for another 3-5 minutes until the veggies are tender but still crisp.
Thicken the Sauce
  1. Mix cornstarch with water and pour this over the stir-fry, stirring until the sauce thickens.
Season
  1. Taste and season with additional salt or black pepper if needed.
Serve
  1. Serve hot over rice or noodles and enjoy!

Notes

No fancy tools needed; just a good skillet or wok. Feel free to substitute beef with chicken, tofu, or any preferred protein. Mix in any leftover veggies you have on hand.
