Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by greasing it lightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, and eggs. Mix until everything is well combined.
- Pour your batter into the prepared dish and bake according to the package instructions (about 25-30 minutes).
Cooling
- Once the cake is baked to a golden perfection, take it out of the oven and allow it to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Poking and Adding Gel
- Use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cooled cake, making holes about every inch apart.
- Prepare your strawberry and blueberry gel according to the package instructions. Slowly pour the jelly over the poked cake, ensuring it gets into the holes.
Chilling and Topping
- Cover the cake with plastic wrap and pop it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for a more intense flavor.
- Once chilled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake. Optionally, top with fresh strawberries and blueberries, plus sprinkles if desired.
Serving
- Slice and serve the cake, enjoying the reactions of your guests!
Notes
Feel free to explore different flavors of gel or add a layer of cream cheese frosting underneath the whipped topping for extra richness.
