  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced For decoration or serving

  • 1 package strawberry gel (3 oz)
  • 1 package blueberry gel (3 oz)
For the topping
  • 2 cups whipped topping (store-bought or homemade)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by greasing it lightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, and eggs. Mix until everything is well combined.
  3. Pour your batter into the prepared dish and bake according to the package instructions (about 25-30 minutes).
Cooling
  1. Once the cake is baked to a golden perfection, take it out of the oven and allow it to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Poking and Adding Gel
  1. Use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cooled cake, making holes about every inch apart.
  2. Prepare your strawberry and blueberry gel according to the package instructions. Slowly pour the jelly over the poked cake, ensuring it gets into the holes.
Chilling and Topping
  1. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and pop it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for a more intense flavor.
  2. Once chilled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake. Optionally, top with fresh strawberries and blueberries, plus sprinkles if desired.
