Preparation
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Generously rub the seasoning mixture all over the ribeye steaks. Let them marinate while prepping the shrimp.
Cooking
- Heat a cast-iron skillet or a heavy-duty pan over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of oil and place the ribeyes in the skillet.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for perfect medium-rare, adjusting to your liking.
- In the same skillet, after the steaks have rested, add a bit more oil and toss in the shrimp.
- Sprinkle the shrimp with a pinch of salt and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque.
- Melt the butter in the pan with the shrimp, followed by a squeeze of lemon juice while gently tossing to coat.
Plating
- Slice the ribeye steak, arrange it alongside the shrimp, and sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer for steak doneness; 130°F for medium-rare and 140°F for medium. Keep a trash bowl handy for shrimp shells.
