Ingredients

Steak and Shrimp
  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks (1-inch thick)
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Seasoning Mix
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional) for a little kick
For Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Generously rub the seasoning mixture all over the ribeye steaks. Let them marinate while prepping the shrimp.
Cooking
  1. Heat a cast-iron skillet or a heavy-duty pan over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of oil and place the ribeyes in the skillet.
  2. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for perfect medium-rare, adjusting to your liking.
  3. In the same skillet, after the steaks have rested, add a bit more oil and toss in the shrimp.
  4. Sprinkle the shrimp with a pinch of salt and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque.
  5. Melt the butter in the pan with the shrimp, followed by a squeeze of lemon juice while gently tossing to coat.
Plating
  1. Slice the ribeye steak, arrange it alongside the shrimp, and sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer for steak doneness; 130°F for medium-rare and 140°F for medium. Keep a trash bowl handy for shrimp shells.
