Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Trim the tough ends off the asparagus by snapping them where they naturally break.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it into bite-sized pieces.
Cooking
  1. Toss the asparagus on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Mix in the minced garlic.
  2. Spread the asparagus in a single layer and roast in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, checking halfway through.
  3. After roasting, sprinkle the crumbled bacon and shredded cheese on top of the asparagus, and return to the oven for another 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
Serving
