Ingredients

Steak
  • 1 pound steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank) Choose your preferred cut.
Garlic Butter
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Melted for the garlic butter.
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced Don't shy away from the garlic; it's a key player!
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme Or 1 teaspoon dried thyme if needed.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For Grilling
  • as needed Olive oil For rubbing on the steak.

Method

Prepare the Garlic Butter
  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and let simmer for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant, but do not let it brown. Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper, then set aside.
Marinate the Steak
  1. Rub both sides of the steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt and pepper.
Get Grilling
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or 6-7 minutes for medium.
Butter It Up
  1. When you flip the steak for the last time, brush on the roasted garlic butter. Let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
Slice and Serve
  1. Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides. Drizzle more garlic butter on top for added flavor.

Notes

Don't worry about grill marks; they're charming! For leftovers, wrap tightly and refrigerate for up to three days. Reheat gently to maintain juiciness.
