Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3/4 cup milk (or buttermilk) Either regular milk or buttermilk can be used.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
Toppings
  • 1 pinch sea salt For topping.
  • Extra rosemary For topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and rosemary.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the olive oil, milk, and minced garlic.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Grease the skillet lightly with olive oil if needed.
Cooking
  1. Pour the dough into the hot skillet, spreading it out evenly.
  2. Top with extra rosemary and a sprinkle of sea salt.
  3. Cook on the stovetop for about 5 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  4. Transfer it into a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and baked through.
Serving
  1. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serve warm.

Notes

Feel free to double the garlic for a stronger flavor. Leftovers should be wrapped tightly in foil and stored at room temperature for a day. Reheat in the oven to restore the crust.
