Method
Preparation of Bread
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the baguette or rustic Italian bread into ½-inch thick pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet.
- Brush one side of the bread slices with olive oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
Mix Tomato Topping
- In a mixing bowl, combine the halved cherry tomatoes, minced garlic, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Stir until well mixed.
Assemble the Bruschetta
- Remove the crispy bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- On each piece of toast, layer the tomato mixture, topped with a slice of burrata cheese and prosciutto.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Finishing Touches
- Drizzle with extra olive oil or balsamic glaze before serving.
Serve
- Present your bruschetta on a platter and enjoy!
Notes
If you prefer a milder flavor, roast the garlic before adding it to the tomatoes. Store leftover toppings separately to avoid sogginess, and consider using fresh mozzarella if burrata is unavailable.
