  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs Added one at a time
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark
  • to taste flaky sea salt For sprinkling on top

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat, then remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and fold until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dollops of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  8. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top of the dough.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Optional: Chill the dough for about an hour before baking for enhanced flavor and texture. Don't overmix the flour; it's okay to see some streaks.
