Preparation
- Peel and dice the Honeycrisp apples into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk. Slowly pour this into the dry mixture while stirring gently.
- Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed.
- In a large skillet, pour enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom (about 1 inch deep) and heat over medium heat.
Cooking
- Once the oil is ready, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fritters onto paper towels to drain excess oil.
- In a small saucepan, heat the honey until warm and pourable, then sprinkle in a pinch of sea salt and stir.
Serving
- Drizzle the warm salted honey over the fritters and serve immediately.
