Ingredients
  

Chicken Filling
  • 1 pound ground chicken or turkey if you prefer
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced because flavor is key!
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 1 cup water chestnuts, chopped for that delightful crunch
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped
For the Wraps
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce for the wraps
  • Thai chili sauce for drizzling

Method
 

Cooking Chicken
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sesame oil and let it warm up.
  2. Add the ground chicken and cook until browned and no longer pink.
Flavoring
  1. Once your chicken is cooked, add the minced garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and oyster sauce.
  2. Mix well and let it cook for about 2 minutes.
Adding Crunch
  1. Stir in the chopped water chestnuts and green onions.
  2. Let them cook for another minute to warm through.
Preparing Lettuce
  1. While your chicken mixture simmers, separate the lettuce leaves.
  2. Ensure they are sturdy enough to hold the filling but soft enough to bite.
Assembling Wraps
  1. Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture into each lettuce leaf.
  2. Drizzle with Thai chili sauce and serve immediately.

Notes

You can swap ground chicken for shrimp, beef, or tofu for variations. Use romaine or butter lettuce if iceberg is not available. Adjust the Thai chili sauce according to spice preference.
