Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 unit bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced or grated
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, toss the sliced flank steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate while you gather your veggies.
  2. Heat up the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright and slightly tender.
Cooking
  1. Push the veggies to the side, increase the heat, and add the marinated steak. Let it sear for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then, mix everything together and add the garlic and ginger.
  2. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the steak is fully cooked.
  3. Drizzle the oyster sauce over the stir-fry, season with salt and pepper, and toss to combine. Give it a quick stir for about a minute.
Serving
  1. Spoon your savory masterpiece over rice or noodles and serve.

Notes

For tender bites, always slice the steak against the grain. If cooking for more than a small family, do it in batches to maintain the sizzle. Feel free to toss in leftover or seasonal veggies.
