  • 1 can (15 oz) sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup Russian or Thousand Island dressing Your choice of dressing
  • 4 cups shredded Swiss cheese For melty goodness
  • 1 package (16 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough Shortcut ingredient
  • 1 tbsp caraway seeds Optional, enhances flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the baking dish, pinching the seams together.
Layering
  1. Layer the chopped corned beef on top of the dough.
  2. Spread the sauerkraut generously on top of the corned beef.
  3. Drizzle the dressing over the sauerkraut.
  4. Sprinkle half of the Swiss cheese on top.
  5. For an adventurous option, repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients, finishing with the rest of the Swiss cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  2. Allow the dish to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add chopped pickles or jalapeños for an extra kick. Substitute sauerkraut with coleslaw mix for a milder taste. The dish can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake.
