Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 pieces fresh jalapeño peppers as spicy or mild as you like
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened for easier mixing
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or a blend works well
  • 1/2 cup cooked sausage or ground turkey adds protein
  • 1/4 cup diced onions for a hint of sweetness
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder because garlic makes everything better
  • Salt and pepper to taste just a pinch for perfection
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish a little green never hurt!

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheese, cooked sausage (or turkey), onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  4. Generously spoon the mixture into each jalapeño half.
Cooking
  1. Place the stuffed jalapeños on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and slightly golden.
  3. Sprinkle with fresh herbs for garnish before serving.

Notes

You can customize the filling by adding cooked bacon, different types of cheese, or chopped vegetables. For a make-ahead option, store stuffed jalapeños in the fridge until ready to bake—add a few extra minutes to the cooking time if they are cold.
