Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 1 cup heavy cream (the more the merrier)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (because who doesn’t love garlic?)
Cooking Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to your spice preference)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish and color)

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large skillet, add the olive oil and butter on medium heat. As the butter melts, your kitchen will start smelling amazing.
  2. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the pan. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Toss in the shrimp and mussels. Season with salt and pepper, then cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the mussels open (discard any that don’t).
  4. Pour the heavy cream over the seafood and stir gently to combine. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving to add a lovely pop of color and flavor.

Notes

If you’re not a fan of mussels, feel free to substitute with clams or add sautéed scallops. You can use half-and-half or coconut cream as a substitute for heavy cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for about 2 days.
