Delicious shrimp and crab mixture piled onto toasted bread, smothered in cheese for a quick and fancy comfort food delight.

Ingredients
  

Seafood Mixture
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 cup crab meat, shredded (canned works well!)
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard for that extra tang!
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
Bread
  • 4 slices thick bread (sourdough or whole-grain) great choices
Garnish
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish and a pop of color

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  3. Place the slices of bread on a baking sheet and generously spoon the shrimp and crab mixture onto each slice.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serving
  1. Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley on top before serving.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to add other toppings like sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick, or swap in different cheeses. Leftover mixture makes a great dip for veggies or crackers!
