  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme optional, for additional flavor

Preparation
  1. Rinse your whole chicken under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, salt, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme. Rub this mixture all over the chicken.
Cooking
  1. Place the seasoned chicken into your slow cooker breast side up.
  2. Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 6-7 hours or high for about 3-4 hours.
Serving
  1. Once the chicken is done, let it rest for about 10 minutes before carving and serving.

Notes

Customization is key: try adding lemon slices inside for a citrusy twist or mix in some Cajun seasoning for extra flavor. Save the drippings to make a flavorful sauce.
