  • 1 lb large shrimp, deveined
  • 1 lb crab legs (snow or King crab) Use King crab for a fancy option
Vegetables
  • 1 lb small potatoes, halved
  • 2 ears corn, cut into quarters
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
Broth and Seasonings
  • 4 cups chicken broth (or water)
  • 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper Adjust to spice level
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Garnishes
  • to taste Fresh parsley For garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by filling a large pot with the chicken broth. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  2. Toss in the halved potatoes first and let them simmer for about 10 minutes until just tender.
Cooking
  1. Drop in the corn quarters and let them cook with the potatoes for another 5-7 minutes.
  2. Stir in the shrimp and crab legs, sprinkle in the Old Bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, paprika, and lemon juice, then stir well.
  3. Let everything cook together for an additional 5-7 minutes until shrimp turn pink and crab is heated through.
  4. Taste the broth and add salt and pepper as needed.
  5. Ladle the ingredients into bowls, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Careful not to rush the potatoes as they take longer to cook than seafood. You can adapt the spice level according to your taste.
