  • 1 pound andouille sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 ears corn, cut into halves or thirds
  • 2 pounds baby potatoes
Broth Seasoning
  • 8 cups water
  • 1/2 cup Old Bay seasoning (or your favorite seafood boil spices)
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce Adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Freshly squeezed is best
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
For Serving
  • Optional: melted butter and lemon wedges For serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by rinsing the shrimp and crab legs under cold water.
  2. Cut your sausage, potatoes, and corn, and set everything aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a rolling boil. Add the Old Bay seasoning, hot sauce, and a sprinkle of salt.
  2. Toss in the baby potatoes first. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until tender.
  3. After the potatoes have softened, add the corn to the pot and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Next, add the sausage pieces for that smoky flavor.
  5. Finally, add the shrimp and crab legs. Cover the pot and cook for about 3-5 minutes, just until the shrimp turn pink.
  6. Carefully drain the seafood boil using a colander. Shake to remove excess water, then transfer to a large serving dish.
  7. Drizzle with lemon juice and toss gently.
Serving
  1. Serve with melted butter and lemon wedges on the side, if desired.
