  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted 1 stick
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup crushed strawberry cereal For crunch
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh strawberries
For the Sweet Vanilla Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar until well blended.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly between each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture into your wet ingredients while stirring continuously until thick and fudgy.
  6. Gently fold in the crushed strawberry cereal and chopped fresh strawberries.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into a greased 8x8-inch baking dish and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
Glaze Preparation
  1. While the brownies cool, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Adjust consistency with more milk or sugar as needed.
Finishing Touch
  1. Drizzle the sweet vanilla glaze over the cooled brownies, cut into squares, and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter to avoid tough brownies. If strawberry cereal is unavailable, any fruity cereal can be substituted. For more chocolate, add chocolate chips to the batter.
