Ingredients

For the Crunch Layer
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup melted butter
For the Strawberry Layer
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness of strawberries
For the Cream Layer
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package cream cheese (8 oz), softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for cream cheese mixture)
  • 1 cup milk

Method

Make the Crunch Layer
  1. Mix the crushed graham crackers, granulated sugar, and melted butter in a bowl until well combined. Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool.
Prepare the Strawberry Layer
  1. In a bowl, toss your sliced strawberries with the granulated sugar. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes.
Whip Up the Cream Layer
  1. In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and milk until creamy and smooth. Carefully fold in the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until combined.
Assemble Your Gorgeous Trifle
  1. In a large trifle dish, layer the components: start with a layer of the crunchy graham cracker mixture, followed by a layer of strawberries, then a layer of the cream mixture. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with the cream layer on top.
Chill and Serve
  1. Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. When ready to serve, garnish with whole strawberries or a sprinkle of extra graham cracker crumbs.

Notes

This trifle can be made a day in advance. Cover tightly with plastic wrap. Substitute strawberries with other fruits as desired. For a dairy-free version, use coconut cream and a dairy-free cream cheese alternative.
