  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Can use frozen strawberries, thawed and drained.
Cream Cheese Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Toppings
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips For a rich and sweet finish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well blended.
  3. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  4. Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into the pan. Then, layer the sliced strawberries on top.
  5. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of this mixture over the strawberries, then cover with the remaining chocolate batter.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

If using frozen strawberries, ensure they are thawed and drained properly. A bit of texture in the cream cheese filling can add character to the cake. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
