Ingredients

For the surf
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For the turf
  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the creamy sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Peel and devein your shrimp, chop the fresh parsley, and mince the garlic.
Cooking the Steak
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter. Once melted, season ribeye steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the steaks for about 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, then flip and add minced garlic. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes.
  3. Transfer the steaks to a plate, cover, and let them rest.
Sauté the Shrimp
  1. In the same skillet, add olive oil if necessary, then toss in the shrimp and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook until shrimp are pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from heat.
Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce
  1. In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and pour in heavy cream. Stir in Dijon mustard and lemon juice, adding salt and pepper.
  2. Allow to simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
Combine and Serve
  1. Spoon the creamy sauce over the steaks and nestle the shrimp on top. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Keep a close eye on shrimp to avoid overcooking. Substitutions can be made for the steak, like chicken or meat alternatives.
