Ingredients
  

Shrimp and Marinade
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced The secret ingredient for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Regular paprika or cayenne can be used as alternatives
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well mixed.
  3. Add the shrimp to the marinade and let soak for about 15-30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning. After marinating, thread shrimp onto skewers.
  6. Grill shrimp for about 2-3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque.
  7. Remove shrimp from the grill and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Don’t overcook the shrimp to avoid rubberiness. Leftover shrimp can be used in salads.
