Ingredients

Cake Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
Milk Mixture
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
Toppings
  • to taste whipped cream, for topping
  • to taste fresh strawberries, for garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  3. In a larger bowl, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the milk. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Milks Preparation
  1. While the cake is cooling, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk in a bowl. Stir well to create a creamy mixture.
  2. Once the cake is done, let it cool for about 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the top using a fork.
  3. Pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in. Let it cool completely in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Serving
  1. Scoop out a generous slice into a glass or dessert bowl, top with whipped cream, and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.

Notes

You can use a store-bought cake as your base. Feel free to swap in your favorite fruits like mango or blueberries for a fun twist. Don’t worry if your cake cracks a bit; it's part of its rustic charm!
