Preparation
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually add the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. Avoid overmixing.
Frying
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F.
- Drop small balls of dough into the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the beignets and let them drain on a paper towel.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Serving
- Serve warm and enjoy with coffee or hot chocolate.

For best results, use fresh oil for frying and don’t skip the powdered sugar dusting.
