Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup milk, warmed not boiling
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Lots of Kinder Bueno chocolates, chopped for filling
  • Powdered sugar for dusting for finishing touches

Method

Preparation of Dough
  1. In a bowl, mix the warm milk and yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Pour in the yeast mixture, followed by melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
Kneading
  1. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Rising
  1. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a warm towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.
Shape and Fry
  1. Once risen, punch the dough down and roll it out to about 1/2-inch thick. Use a round cutter to cut out donuts.
  2. Heat oil to about 350°F and fry the donuts in batches, about 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. Transfer them to paper towels to drain excess oil.
Filling and Dusting
  1. Once cooled slightly, fill each donut with chopped Kinder Bueno chocolates.
  2. Dust generously with powdered sugar.

Notes

For best results, fry a few donuts at a time for even cooking. Allow filled donuts to chill in the fridge before serving for a firmer filling. Drizzle with melted white chocolate for extra indulgence.
