Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, ensuring they are fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the center looks slightly underbaked.
- Let the cookies cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For best results, chill dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before baking. Leftover dough can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for later use.
