A comforting creamy prawn and lobster bisque that warms the soul, perfect for impressing guests or indulging yourself.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb prawns, peeled and deveined
  • ½ lb lobster meat, cooked and chopped
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cups fish or seafood broth
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Sauté the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the fish broth and bring it to a simmer. Toss in the diced tomatoes, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it all meld together for about 10 minutes.
  3. Blend the soup using an immersion blender until smooth, or carefully transfer in batches to a regular blender. Return it to the pot once blended.
  4. Add the heavy cream and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes, avoiding boiling to prevent curdling.
  5. Finish by adding the prawns and lobster, cooking until the prawns are pink and opaque, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Serve the bisque in bowls garnished with fresh chives or parsley.

Notes

Maintain medium heat while cooking to avoid burning the base ingredients. Use fresh seafood for the best flavor.
