  • 8 ounces Fresh mozzarella balls, preferably bocconcini or ciliegine Drain and dry the mozzarella balls.
  • 1 handful Fresh basil leaves Use fresh basil for optimal flavor.
  • 3 tablespoons Balsamic glaze Store-bought or homemade.
  • to taste Olive oil Drizzle for added flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adds flavor to the dish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by hulling and slicing the strawberries.
  2. Drain the mozzarella balls and dry them off.
Assembly
  1. On a serving platter, layer the mozzarella, strawberries, and basil leaves.
  2. Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic glaze generously over the layers.
Seasoning and Serving
  1. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

For added flair, you can mix in feta or walnuts. Fresh ingredients make a big difference in this recipe. If making balsamic glaze from scratch, simmer balsamic vinegar until it thickens.
