Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large pot over medium heat, combine the heavy cream and chicken broth.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Bring this delicious blend to a simmer.
- Toss in the shrimp and fish chunks, cooking until they’re just opaque (about 3-4 minutes). Be careful not to overcook them.
- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the lemon juice.
Biscuit Preparation
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter with a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mix resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese and buttermilk until just combined.
Assembly and Baking
- Transfer the seafood mixture to a baking dish.
- Spoon dollops of the biscuit dough on top, evenly spreading them out.
- Melt the garlic butter and brush it generously over the biscuit topping.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are puffed up and golden brown.
- Allow to rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Consider substituting seafood based on availability. You can prepare the filling earlier in the day to save time. If your biscuit dough is sticky, use a bit of flour for dusting.
