Cookie Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed You can use light or dark brown sugar.
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Sifted for better texture.
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips work well.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg until fully incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container to keep cookies soft. You can add nuts for extra crunch.
