Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 pieces salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons white miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish (optional)
  • Cooked rice or steamed vegetables, to serve (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the miso paste, grated ginger, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Mix until smooth.
  3. Place your salmon fillets skin-side down on a lined baking sheet. Rub the miso mixture generously over the top of each fillet.
  4. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper on the salmon to taste.
Cooking
  1. Pop the baking sheet in the oven and let it bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
Serving
  1. Once done, take it out of the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve alongside rice or steamed vegetables.

Notes

Marinate the salmon in the miso mixture for about 30 minutes before baking for enhanced flavor. Adjust cooking time for different salmon fillet sizes to avoid overcooking.
