Preparation and Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix thoroughly. Add the chopped nuts and combine.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Roll the dough into one-inch balls and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  7. Roll the warm cookies in powdered sugar and let them cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for about 30 minutes for easier handling and fluffier cookies. For a nut-free version, omit the nuts or use mini chocolate chips. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Unbaked dough can be frozen for up to three months. Bake straight from frozen, adding an extra minute or two to the baking time.
