This grilled steak with shrimp is the ultimate surf & turf meal! A juicy, perfectly seared steak is topped with succulent garlic butter shrimp, creating a restaurant-quality dish thatā€™s perfect for special occasions or a hearty dinner.


Ingredients:

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1-inch thick)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or dried)

For the Garlic Butter Shrimp:

  • 12 large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

For Serving:

  • Lemon wedges

  • Extra melted butter (optional)


Directions:

1. Prepare the Steak:

  • Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel.

  • Rub both sides with olive oil, then season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and thyme.

  • Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 15 minutes to absorb the seasoning.

2. Grill the Steak:

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (400-450Ā°F/200-230Ā°C).

  • Grill the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or until desired doneness.

  • Remove from the grill, tent with foil, and let them rest for 5 minutes.

3. Cook the Shrimp:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.

  • Add the garlic and sautĆ© for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Add the shrimp, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until shrimp turns pink and opaque.

  • Squeeze in lemon juice and stir.
